Why Limit Happy?!?! Scrapbook Layout

Hi friends!

Today, I am back with another layout created using the latest Talk Foodie To Me collection. As I was playing around with this collection, I realized that it would actually be perfect for some pool photos. We have a giant pineapple pool float and it coordinated perfectly with this collection! I have also been trying to play along with my friend Christy (from Christy's Beautiful Life) this month in her 30 days of sketches challenge so I chose today's sketch to work with as well. I just love working with sketches because they help the creative ideas start to flow!

Here is today's sketch and my layout with it....

I knew that the fruity patterned paper was the perfect starting place because it matched perfectly with my theme and would work in the top section of the sketch. I then added a thin strip of brighter pink paper and decided that to add some additional dimension, my fringe scissors would really add some fun texture.

Then, I just started building embellishment clusters in each of the three locations where the sketch suggested them. The sketch itself used snowflakes and circles but I changed it up to include fruit and hexagons. Those hexagons....punched from the pocket cards that coordinate with the Talk Foodie To Me collection!

In order to create a cohesive look since I used so many different patterns, I used my Catherine Pooler Party Dress ink pad to ink all of the edges. For embellishments, I just started layering and layering. I tried to make sure that each cluster had larger pieces layered with medium size, small, and mini confetti embellishments by including things like the Talk Foodie To Me collection die cuts, mini puffy stickers, epoxy flair badges, and enamel dots & shapes. It was super fun to keep adding little details to create more and more dimension and detail. I used dimensional adhesive with some of the elements for a little extra dimension and interest as well.

I hope that you enjoyed reading a little bit about my process and if you want to hear more, make sure to stop by my channel and check out the process video that goes with this layout. Today, I want to challenge you to grab your favorite sketch (or try out the one that I used) and create a layout! Remember that sometimes your favorite collections can be used for a slightly different purpose (ex. I used the talk foodie to me collection to create a pool layout) to create a new look. Happy Creating!
