Colorful! Scrapbook Layout (Wild Whisper Designs)

Hi friends!

I am back this week and, big surprise, my obsession with Media Assemblage from Nicole Wright is continuing. This is just the most gorgeous and useable collection! Today, I even managed to take a few of my smallest leftover scraps and put them to great use.

The really cool part about this collection is that it doesn't require very much embellishing at all to end up with a really impactful layout! Total bonus points for that! I backed my white cardstock with a thin border of black on all the sides and then added some purple ink for a pop of color. The same ink color also peeks out from behind all of my patterned paper layers.

One of my favorite tips when using lots of layers is to use a bunch of different depths of foam adhesive. Using just a couple of different sizes of foam, you can create three of four different layers and levels of detail in a really easy way.  To create this look today, I just used small squares and rectangles from a few of the different patterned papers and layered them all together in kind of an abstract art kind of way extending out from behind my photo in both directions horizontally. I also added a double layer of foam behind my photo to help that part really pop. It also helps to have a black and white photo here.

As far as embellishments, I just added a few epoxy hearts and the word "Colorful" along the bottom edge of my photo. I also used the Child at Heart stamp set to stamp the phrase "treasure this moment" under my photo. Easy embellishing!

Have I mentioned how much I adore this collection yet?!?!
